With CATA, Getting There is Easy as 1,2,3!

1 Decide to Ride.

With over 30 routes and more than 1,300 bus stops, CATA is right around the corner. Sit back and relax and let us do the driving.

2 Learn How.

Call CATA Customer Service at 517-394-1000. We’ll help you plan your trip. The Customer Service representative will need the following information:

  • Where you are going;
  • What time you want to arrive;
  • Where you’ll begin your trip.

If you would like a personalized trip plan that shows your bus stops and schedule, just ask. We’ll mail it to you. If you like to figure things out for yourself, you can go online at www.cata.org or pick up a print route schedule at one of the many racks around town.

3 Time to Ride.

Get to your bus stop 5-10 minutes before the bus is expected. When you see your bus, give the driver a wave to let them know you want to board.

Getting off the bus.
When the bus is about 3/4 (three quarter) of a block from the bus stop nearest your destination, signal the driver to stop. Just push the plastic strip along the window (on some buses you pull a cord above the window). Let the driver know if you will be taking your bike off the bus before you exit the bus. Please exit at the rear door and wait for the bus to leave if you are crossing the street.

Getting back.
Wait for your bus at the bus stop across the street from where you get off. You know what to do from there.

All CATA vehicles are equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifts and service animals are welcome.
