CATA Service Resumes for Fall Semester
Lansing, MI - CATA's Spartan Service-the additional bus service that operates only during MSU fall and spring semesters-resumes Monday, August 18, 2008. Route 1 Downtown Lansing - Meridian Mall, Route 25 North Harrison and Route 26 Abbot - Chandler provide additional trips during the Spartan Service periods. Route 26 will also return to its regular routing on Monday; traveling to and from Hunsaker Road via Chandler Road.
All MSU campus Spartan Service, which includes Routes 30-36, Lot Link and Night Owl, resumes on Monday. The 32 Commuter Lot route remains on detour due to Farm Lane Underpass construction work. Routes 32A and 32B Spartan Village Limited will travel to and from campus to the Commuter Lot #89 via Harrison, Hagadorn and Mt. Hope roads. This detour is expected to continue through spring 2009. Route 35 Spartan Village/Commuter Lot will still serve the Commuter Lot in the evenings and on the weekends.
The Entertainment Express will also make a route adjustment in East Lansing beginning Thursday, August 21st. The trolley will now travel north from Grand River Avenue onto Abbot Road, then east on Albert and south on MAC to continue the route on Grand River. Customers can now board on Albert at a new Entertainment Express bus, just east of Abbot Road. The trolley will return to Grand River Avenue via M.A.C. The bus stop further east on Albert (past M.A.C.) will no longer be served by the Entertainment Express.
Routes 20 through 23 will resume boarding at the corner of Shaw and Farm Lanes instead of the MSU-CATA Transportation Center. Routes 24 and 25 will continue to board at the Wharton Center and stop at the designated bus stops at Shaw and Farm Lanes.
New bus schedules are available in schedule racks, on CATA buses, and on CATA's website.
