2016/2017 MSU Campus Service

CATA's Spartan Service operates 24/7 during fall and spring semesters with service to all University apartments, residence halls, commuter lots, and main campus buildings.

  • August 29 thru December 18, 2016
  • January 9 thru March 5, 2017 (Spring Break: week of March 6th)
  • March 13 thru May 7, 2017

Additionally, CATA provides year-round service from off-campus apartments in the East Lansing, Okemos, Haslett and Jolly/Dunckel Road areas to MSU.

 

Monday-Friday Service

CATA operates five fixed routes on campus starting at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday with service until 2:30 a.m. unless noted:

  • Route 30 South & East Neighborhoods
  • Route 31 Brody & East Neighborhoods
  • Route 32 Commuter Lot - Clinical Center (service concludes at 7 p.m.)
  • Route 33 Union - South Neighborhood (service concludes at 7 p.m.)
  • Route 39 University Village – Spartan Village

Weekend Service

CATA operates three fixed routes on campus from 9 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays:

  • 34 Brody Neighborhood - University Village
  • 35 South Neighborhood - Spartan Village
  • 36 East Neighborhood  

Disability Service

CATA operates on-campus Spec-Tran service 7 days a week for passengers with disabilities who cannot use fixed-route. Spec-Tran MSU passengers are eligible for discounted fares through MSU's Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities.

MSU-CATA Transportation Center (Shaw Parking Ramp #1)

The main boarding center and transfer point for CATA routes serving MSU is open 24-7. The facility is located across from Shaw Hall and includes bus schedules and maps, indoor seating, community policing office, a convenience store, public restrooms, vending machines and an ATM, access to MSU’s Ramp 1 parking, and CATA’s Customer Service direct phone lines.

Lot Link and Night Owl

Lot Link and Night Owl provide curb-to-curb transportation on MSU’s campus seven days a week during the academic year. Lot Link operates in the evening and on the weekends to provide connections between MSU parking lots #83, 89 or 91 and another campus location. Night Owl provides late night/early morning campus service when other CATA services are not running. Service is restricted to campus boundaries. Call 517-432-8888 when you are ready for a ride. A small bus will arrive within 20 minutes of your call to take you to your campus destination. No advance reservations will be accepted.
